Great website. Glad I found it. I live in Ohio now, but was born and raised in New Marske. Would love to see pictures from there to quench my occasional home sickness. there’s lots of history from the old village, up Pontac road where the old railroad ran, right into errington woods where there are all kinds of relics of mining and WW2.

Are you sure that the 42 tonne slag ladle was designed in Darlington by Ashmore Benson & Pease? Their design office was in Bowesfield Lane, Stockton as far as I know.
