I previously posted about this location in early 2009
Since that time much of the undergrowth has been cleared by the Friends of Errington Woods, allowing a much better view of the hauling engine bases.
Some of the ubiquitous Pease bricks can again be found, but this time in their more normal cream.
Main Winning Hauling Engine, Upleatham Ironstone Mine (UPDATE)

I wonder if our ‘friends’ at R & CBC will stick their nose in again?????
I wouldnt expect so this time, no holes have been opened.
Hi
I am putting together an exhibition about the Ironstone miners in Marske/New Marske for Winkies Castle ( Marske’s museum in a cottage on the High street). If you would like to have a look at what we do please visit our Web site: winkiescastle.co.uk
I was wondering if I could use some of your photo’s in the exhibition for this year, I would, of course, credit them as yours. Many thanks Ann Sidgwick, museum manager.
