  1. Interesting fact about this : My great grandfather the Rev Richard Marsden Withington unveiled this war memorial, as he was the local vicar. One of the names on the memorial is “A Withington” I do not know who this is! The Withington family (as the name suggests) came from the Manchester area. None from Upleatham. So did he have the name put on, or is it just a curious coincidence?
