King Edward VII Memorial Clock was unveiled on January 29, 1913 by Councillor Henry Hudson
The clock was originally planned in 1902 although trouble raising sufficient funds meant it never arrived until 1913
The clock originally had a bell but this was removed to St Mark’s Church, Marske in the 1970s.
Hooray for the clock. I’ve always wanted to go inside it.
Great site with lots of interesting stuff, thanks for your efforts. Regarding this post, I’m surprised the Council have not stuck a wind turbine on the top of it to go along with all the others almost on the beach.
