Are you sure the Kirby isn’t just Kirkby, which would be in the same direction as Stokesley? Also, classic choad form, this stone. Reply ↓
The ‘Kirby’ direction sends you up onto Blakey Ridge, so I think its meaning Kirkbymoorside. ‘Stokelay’ point to the road down through Westerdale/Commondale which is right for Stokesley. Reply ↓
