Are you sure the Kirby isn’t just Kirkby, which would be in the same direction as Stokesley?
Also, classic choad form, this stone.
The ‘Kirby’ direction sends you up onto Blakey Ridge, so I think its meaning Kirkbymoorside.
‘Stokelay’ point to the road down through Westerdale/Commondale which is right for Stokesley.
Do you have the grid reference of the westerdale guidestone ?
