Back in 2012 when I took this photo, the building looked rather sorry for itself.
Its amazing what a coat of paint can do to improve things.

Used to go their on Monday nights myself, will have been 13/14 years old. I had a much older sister called Joyce but she was married by then. I was the youngest of 5 brothers and sister Joyce, but sadly no Pat. I suppose we must be related somewhere back in time as my Dad only had a sister. I believe there were other. Cromacks living in Billingham and Acklam and a sewing machine shop on Newport Road. Happy days apart from school the next day !
Frankly, a good clean of the original stone would have looked better!
but cost considerably more
