Does anyone have info on the Coopers? They had several houses in Westgate Street (221, 231, 233, plus a couple of others I believe). Thomas was Innkeeper in 1881 at the Red Lion, Church Street, then 1891 at Golden Lion in Market Place, whilst his brother John ran the Abbey Inn with their father Aaron Cooper. Also George Snaith was the uncle of Sarah Garbutt (she became wife to Thomas), Then there are the Coppings, Postills, Postgates. Oh and Matthew Myers who was the shoemaker at 40 Westgate. He’s not a relative of mine, but related to my best friend. Bizarre that 100+ years down the line, we live as far apart as they did back then, only we are based in Bristol and have worked together for over 14 years!! Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you
nice one. Merry Christmas and a happy new year
