West End Methodist Chapel was built in 1877 for the Wesleyan branch of the Methodists. It was built for a congregation of about 500 people at that time.

The final service took place on 14th October 2012 and the building is now home to Puma Cheer and Dance.
I have fond memories of taking part in the Annual Methodist Eisteddfod here in the 60s & 70s. I was a member of Redcar’s West Dyke Church and different classes were held in these and other Methodist Churches in the district. I do know that my father helped to set this up along with the Methodist minister who I think was called the Rev Lowry.
Happy Memories.
